University Program

Join the qualified universities who have already incorporated Tensilica’s tools into their classrooms and academic research projects. Tensilica’s University Program provides leading educations institutions with easy access to Tensilica’s leading processor configuration and extension tools.

All of these universities have or are using Tensilica's University License Program for research and education. Click on the available links to find out more about what they're doing with Tensilica's processors.

Our customers rely on skilled engineers entering the work force. By making our products readily available for instruction and academic research, Tensilica is helping the electronics industry by providing a highly trained workforce.

Participating schools must agree to use the software for teaching and academic research purposes only. All applicants to the program must be from accredited, degree-granting academic institutions.

Tensilica tools runs on Windows XP-equipped personal computers. These computer systems need to have a minimum of 256 megabytes of available memory running at 1 GHz or faster.

Ordering Instructions

Here’s how your university or college can join Tensilica’s University Program or renew your semi-annual license (6 months) or your academic school year license (9 months):

  1. Thoroughly review the University Program Licensing Policy.
  2. The head of the department for which the Professor is ordering the tools should sign the License Agreement document, not the professor, the legal, or purchasing departments.
  3. Fill out the University Information and Application Form. The pages should be completed legibly.
  4. The people designated as Primary and Secondary Technical Liaisons should be the people responsible for installation and maintenance of Tensilica tools.
  5. Forward the following four (4) items to Tensilica’s University Program Coordinator:

  • A legibly completed copy of the University Program Application Form
  • Two (2) University Program License Agreements documents or two (2) Extension Renewal License Agreements documents, completed and signed by an authorized university representative. The head of the department for which the Professor is ordering the tools should sign the License Agreement document, not the professor, the legal, or purchasing departments. (We will mail a countersigned original to you for your files).
  • A legibly completed University Program Information Form
  • A semi annual or annual report of previous Tensilica-related activity if this is a renewal.
